A little taste of Paris and a potful of Lucerne

The other day I was looking over Bryan's shoulder while he typed up a post for his blog, and he came up with the bright idea of checking when Cappy Paws was last updated. SO! A lot of shame and a little bit of loneliness (just sent Bryan to the airport after a month of living together in small, confined spaces) brought me back to the keyboard.

Bryan and I spent most of April traveling through Europe. Our spring break was spent in 6 countries: France, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Belgium, and the Netherlands.

We took about 2000 pictures during the month of April, if not more. Rather than being all-encompassing and chronological, I'll just touch on a few highlights and a few wonderful pictures :)

Bryan got his first taste of jamon iberico in Paris. Later we feasted on a plate of this stuff in Barcelona, Spain!
One nice gelato place we discovered in Paris: Amorino's!

Yes, I am happy about the size of this cup

Bryan keeps taking pictures. I wanna eat already!
Note: this is a DIFFERENT cup

Yes, we actually went back AGAIN. This time we embarked on the H.A.L.F. project... okok, we just got bored and decided to eat the half on the left first.

AND THEN IT HAPPENED...
The Pierre Hermé macaroons

You don't understand. These are HEAVENLY. PERFECT. The absolute best macaroons that exist.

This wont be the last you see of these macaroons. Bryan's got about 100 more pictures of macaroons on his camera.

These were on sale in the store to the right of my apartment complex.

Zoomed in...

Zoom in MORE? Wow that's tiny!

Switzerland is pretty darn perfect. Everybody's so well off and happy that sometimes they get a little bit too bored.

Below: Get to hostel in Lucerne, open window, look left. What the...?
Never mind the red horse, what is with that wall!?!?

Okok, Lucerne is REALLY REALLY BEAUTIFUL:

What's that I see at the end of the street? A BEAUTIFUL MOUNTAIN? Oh that's right, I'm in Switzerland!

Pretty sure real life isn't supposed to be this majestic.

Why is every picture we take in Lucerne postcard-worthy?

Really! Bryan reckons Switzerland has an atmospheric converter.

The beauty is too much for Bryan to handle.

The only downside of Lucerne is that the above water cost us 11 Swiss Francs.
But then again... I'd pay 11 Swiss Francs just to breathe Swiss air. Pretty sure it's better than regular air.

Bryan's allergic to perfection
Ready for a gondola ride?
Leaving the land of the mortals behind...

Higher...

Higher...

At the top of Mt. Pilatus!

For our last meal we had something Switzerland's famous for, fondue!
\
Five differences sauces for our Chinese fondue! (Chinese just means that it's boiling raw meat in oil rather than dipping things in alcohol-y cheese fondue)
That's beef on the right, and OSTRICH STEAK

Potatoes are ALWAYS good.
Cheers!
Chocolate fondue for dessert. How fittingly delicious :)

You can bet that we licked those plates clean! You don't see any ostrich left, do ya?
Well, that's it for now! More pictures coming up later from... Italy!
